For the world this is a tragedy. For the people of Somalia this is life

The United Nations declared a famine in the region where the worst drought in over 50 years swept across the Horn of Africa, predominantly in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia, developing into the worst disaster in the world today, already claiming thousands of lives and affecting almost 12 million people in dire need for food, safe and drinkable water, shelters and emergency healthcare service.

Somalia is one of the world's poorest and bleakest countries with no access to clean water, sanitation, health facilities and little food. The one abundance is the sound of crying children from the pain of hunger and malnourishment with over 26% of the children underweight and one in 5 children dying before the age of 5.

At the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), people of Abyssinia (Ethiopia) provided aid and security to early Muslims and the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)... Today let us help the people of this region during their time of need.
